I’ve been a lecturer in modern literature at the University of Sheffield since 2012. I’m passionate about modernist literature, but like trying to explore other sides to these famous (and famously difficult) texts – my doctoral research, which I recently developed into a monograph published with Palgrave in August 2014, looks at representations of the starry heavens in modernism. I seek to find the traces of the Einsteinian revolution in these moments of star-gazing.
I’ve just begun what I hope is a big new project which will explore relationships between modernist aesthetics and politics and capital punishment. Articles and chapters relating to this new project will shortly appear in Society and Animals and in Yeats, Philosophy and the Occult (http://liverpooluniversitypress.co.uk/products/80881)
